What is Good Deed Day?
What if everyone did a good deed on the same day? I think we could change the world!
My name is Amy Crawford and I created Good Deed Day to honor the memory of my Aunt June.
Each year on her birthday I do a good deed to honor her memory. Her kindness is my inheritance.
I can remember my Aunt June “accidentally” dropping a penny or a dime when she’d pull out her wallet. As a kid I’d rush to the ground to retrieve her lost penny, but she’d stop me and say “Let’s leave that there for someone who might need it.” She certainly wasn’t rich, but I remember her leaving pennies for strangers.
What if everyone “accidentally” dropped a penny on June 11th? How would that change the world, or the lives of a few people?
The key to Good Deed Day is to do SOMETHING.
It doesn’t matter how big or small your Good Deed is, it just matters that you do it. You can do a Good Deed by letting a car into traffic, holding the door for someone, accidentally dropping a penny, giving time to charity, or even just remembering to recycle your plastic water bottle.
You can do as many Good Deeds as you want, but COMMIT to doing at least one on June 11th.
Wanna start now? Send this page to your friends and ask them to do the same and commit to doing something on Good Deed Day – June 11th.
The more people who commit the better our chances of making the world a better place – one Good Deed at a time!
Doing a Good Deed doesn’t cost anything, but what you get in return is tremendous.
My goal is to have 1,000,000 people around the world committed to doing a Good Deed on June 11th. Doing a Good Deed by myself on June 11th each year is me playing too small in the world. Let’s all play bigger!
PLEASE START WITH A GOOD DEED BY SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THIS PAGE! We can’t do this without each other! Thanks!
